As soon as Maria and Alice starting planning their July wedding weekend, we knew we would never want them to leave. Once they shared their vision of all their friends and family coming from Brooklyn and Manhattan to unite for a “Chic, Country” wedding weekend at the Bee and Thistle; complete with guests being urged to bring their biggest, best hats and sundresses we knew that the “Bee” was the perfect fit for such a fete.
With both Maria and Alice having very busy schedules, much of the planning was done over the phone or via email. Once Linnea received their inspiration images of flower and decor, her creative process began….With color palettes of orange, pinks and greens for the bridal party flowers and soft blues and purples for the table arrangements, Linnea chose to use cala lilies, hydrangeas, and roses. Their ceremony aisle was lined with sheperd’s hooks that were adorned with blue hydrangeas. After the ceremony, the guests moved in to the English Sunken Garden for cocktail hour, and noshed to a swanky play list the ladies had put together.
After a fabulous four course dinner and the towering, hydrangea adorned cake had been cut, the real party began…an impromptu “Dance Party” gave way in the breakfast porch, which had guests kicking off their heels, and their amazing photographer, Carrie Roseman, petering on a chair to catch the action.
Maria and Alice, we wish you all the best, and can’t wait to have another “Dance Party” with you for your anniversary!
