When meeting Nancy and Matt for the first time, I knew this autumn wedding would be special. The bride’s old-style glamour, combined with the groom’s easy-going style, was inspiring. They both entrusted me to plan a unique and memorable event, personally caring for all the details.
Nancy and Matt’s families met over the wedding weekend, making themselves comfortable at the Bee & Thistle, as if this had always been their home. They began with an elegant rehearsal dinner on Friday, followed by a leisurely Saturday morning, while guests relaxed and anticipated the festivities ahead.
The couple took advantage of the unseasonably warm weather in New England, enjoying time outdoors for beautiful photographs on our property along the Lieutenant River.
The weekend culminated with an intimate exchange of vows and reception featuring a Latin classical guitarist who filled the rooms with exotic ambience. I designed simple floral arrangements in various blooms to add seasonal color at every turn.
Chef Kristofer used the freshest fall ingredients to create a four-course dinner menu reflecting the groom’s flare for English cuisine. And at the bride’s request for red velvet cake with peaks of cream cheese frosting,I hand crafted an extraordinary three-tiered cake with soft accents of hydrangea and dusty miller.
As predicted, Nancy and Matt brought majestic glamour to our inn for an unforgettable event. We wish them both much happiness and look forward to seeing them back at the inn for many more celebrations.
